”SDGs Internship/Field Study: Past and present of Hokkaido – History of Ishikari and Sorachi – was held!

For four days from August 30 to September 2, a total of 22 students from Finland, Ukraine, Russia, India, Turkey, Bhutan, and four other countries visited museums in Otaru, Ashibetsu, Akabira, and Mikasa in Sapporo and the central Hokkaido region, where Hokkaido University is located. At each museum, detailed lectures and explanations were given, and the students were able to experience Hokkaido’s history and culture and gain an overview of Hokkaido’s history.

Day1: Hokkaido Museum and Historical Village of Hokkaido,

Day2:Sapporo City Archives, Hoheikan, Hokkaido Museume of Literature and Sapporo Beer Museum

Day3: The Bank of Japan Otaru Museum,and Otaru Museum

Day4: 100 years memorial museum in the village falling of the star, Akabira Coal Mining Heritage Guidance Center, and Mikasa City Museum

Online meetings were held at the end of the day, and students who were unable to participate in person this year were eagerly awaiting next year’s participation.
