SDGs Field Study: Spring School in ASEAN(PARE)was held at Gadjah Mada University (Yogyakarta, Indonesia).
SDGs Field Study: Spring School took place at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from February 6 to 17, spanning 12 days. A total of 19 participants, including 10 students from Hokkaido University, along with students from partner institutions in Thailand and Indonesia, gathered at Gadjah Mada University, where they stayed together in the university dormitory.
Throughout the program, participants from diverse nationalities and academic backgrounds attended lectures focused on the PARE theme (People, Activities, Resources, Environment) delivered by lecturers from diverse academic backgrounds and disciplines. They conducted fieldwork examining the water quality of the Code River at multiple locations. They also visited the Municipal Water Treatment in Bantul and learned about the local water treatment methods.
After completing their research and analyzing the findings, the groups engaged in discussions and concluded the program with final presentations, emphasizing the importance of global cooperation in addressing environmental challenges.
In addition to the academic activities, the group had the opportunity to visit the World Heritage Site, Prambanan Temple, where they explored Indonesia’s rich history and cultural heritage.
