Content of the report

This year I took part in Course – Fieldwork on Development Technologies in Cold Region. The purpose of the course was to show us the features of construction in cold regions, to give us information about new technologies in the design of buildings and energy conservation. In the first week, we got to know the city, then we had several lectures in Sapporo, and we also visited the Hokkaido Government Housing Division, Kogane Community Center in Eniwa city, Hokkaido research Organization, Building Research Department, Hokkaido Nikken Sekkei Ltd. All these places are very important for understanding how the Japanese develop construction technologies and how close international relations are. In the second week, we had lectures on different topics every day: «History and Culture», «Living Enviroment and Regional Development», «Natural Environmental and Resource», «Politics and Economy».

At the end of each day, group discussion was held. On the last day, each group defended their presentations on the topic: «Sustainable Development».

Learning outcomes

During this program, I learned a lot about architectural design and urban planning, about construction technologies in cold regions, about the environmental ecology in Japan, and also a little about the country’s culture.

After each course, I made a presentation using the knowledge gained during the program.

I am sure that the information I learned will help me in the future to do my best in architectural design and gives me a good opportunity to maintain and improve international relations between Japan

Experience in Japan

I really liked the Kogane Community Center in Eniwa city. In my country, I have not seen such centers. It is a very good idea to unite several generations so that they can communicate and spend time together. I especially liked the design of this center and the features of its construction.

Also a big discovery for me was the air cooling system in the Building Research Department.

Influence on future career goals and choices

Participation in the RJE3 program gave me a lot of information about the similarities and differences between Russia and Japan in different aspects. For example, architecture, culture, conservation ecology, economic and political development. I saw that construction in Japan is at a very high level. In Japan, work is being carried out very qualitatively to improve the quality of life of people. I made a lot of discoveries for my profession thanks to this course. I hope that in my future career we will cooperate with Japanese colleagues and exchange information and experience.

Comments
