SDGs Field study: Past and Present of Hokkaido-History of Ishikari and Sorachi- was held.
From September 2 to 9, the course “SDGs Field study: Past and Present of Hokkaido-History of Ishikari and Sorachi- (NJE3)” was held. Students from Hokkaido University and Hokkaido Summer Institute participated in the course.
On the first day, participants attended an orientation session and lectures. On Day 2, the group visited the Hokkaido Museum and the Historical Village of Hokkaido in Sapporo. On Day 3, they visited the Otaru Museum and the Bank of Japan Otaru Museum in Otaru. On Day 4, they visited the Asahikawa City Museum and Ainu Kawamura Kaneto Memorial Hall in Asahikawa. On Day 5 final, they visited the Botanic Garden, Hokkaido University and Megmilk Snow Brand Museum in Sapporo. Through the four-day museum fieldwork, participants had a valuable opportunity to learn about Hokkaido’s history firsthand, from the history of its settlement and development to the historical foundations of present-day Hokkaido, by seeing and experiencing it themselves.
On the final day, participants discussed summaries of the six-days program.
